What does it cost to renew your UAE influencer license?
For most creators renewing in 2026, the permit part costs… Nothing.
That surprises people. The Advertiser Permit (also known as influencer license) is free for your first three years, and renewal doesn't restart the clock or trigger a fee.
So if you got licensed in 2026, your year-two renewal is just the trade license underneath it, about AED 1,500.
The catch is timing. Miss your window and the meter starts running at AED 150 per day. Go 30 days past expiry and the permit is cancelled, and you're reapplying from scratch.

Renewal Cost vs New License Cost in Dubai
Renewing costs the same as year one. No loyalty discount, because your police clearance certificate is only valid for three to six months, so you buy a fresh one every cycle.
Year four is where it changes. The Advertiser Permit stops being free and starts charging AED 1,000 a year, taking a Dubai creator on the DED route from about AED 1,500 to about AED 2,500.

Why Other Guides Say Renewal Costs AED 7,500
Search this and most guides tell you renewal costs about the same as your original license, usually quoted somewhere from AED 7,500 to 15,000.
That's true if you went the free zone or agency-managed route. As a creator, you don’t need that. If you took the DED individual route most creators need, renewal is AED 1,500 a year, and the permit on top costs nothing until year four.

When to Renew Your Influencer License
The advertiser permit runs for one year from issue and renews annually. Your trade license runs on its own annual cycle, and the two don't automatically line up.

That 30-day rule is the one to remember. A late renewal costs AED 150 per day, up to AED 3,000. After 30 days, the permit expires for good. There's no appeal.

Your Permit Dies With Your Trade License
Think of the permit as a trailer connected to your trade license. The trade license is for the car. Let the license expire, and the permit goes nowhere.
This trips creators who renew one and forget the other. Your permit only stays valid while the license underneath it is active.
An expired trade license quietly kills your permit. Every sponsored post after that counts as unlicensed advertising, which has some serious consequences.

Influencer License Renewal in UAE: Documents and Steps
Renewal documents are less than your original application because the NMA and your economic department already hold your file. You're confirming what's on record.
The rules come from Federal Media Law No. 55 of 2023 and Cabinet Resolution No. 20 of 2025, which are mandatory since February 1, 2026.

The steps are short. Renew your trade license through your economic department, then log into the NMA portal with UAE Pass and submit the permit renewal.

Update your account list if it has changed. You can only post ads from the accounts named on your application. Added a TikTok this year and didn't tell the NMA? That account isn't covered.
What Happens If Your License Expires
An expired license costs more than a renewal fee, and the damage isn't limited to money.
Posting sponsored content on an expired permit is unlicensed advertising. Fines if your license expires start at AED 10,000 for a first offence and reach AED 1,000,000 for repeat or serious ones.
The NMA also removes the offending posts, cancels the permit outright, and can push cancellation through to your trade license.
Visa renewals can also get blocked. Social accounts get suspended. A creator who lets an AED 1,500 renewal slide can end up with a residency problem.
Brands notice too. UAE brands now check permit status before signing anyone.
Free Zone Renewals: What's Different
Free zone licenses renew on their own schedules and at their own rates, usually close to what the license cost originally (from AED 7,500 to 15,000).
The permit side doesn't change: it's federal, it runs through the NMA, and it's free for three years whoever issued your license.
On a free zone package with a visa attached? The visa runs its own 2 to 3 year cycle, with medical and Emirates ID costs when it comes due.
Diary it separately. It doesn't follow your license year.
Renewing Outside Dubai: Abu Dhabi and Sharjah
Same NMA portal, same free-for-3-years rule, same 30-day cancellation whether you're in Dubai, Abu Dhabi or Sharjah.
What changes is the license underneath. Dubai DED renewals run about AED 1,070. Abu Dhabi ADDED and Sharjah SEDD have their own fee schedules and their own portals, so check yours rather than assuming the Dubai number.
